09 September 2022, China: A symposium on foreign-funded agricultural enterprises was held in Beijing on Sept. 3, 2022. Vice Minister Ma Youxiang of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA) attended the symposium and delivered remarks.

Vice Minister Ma noted that foreign-funded agricultural enterprises have deeply rooted in China and served China with locally needed products and services, thus contributing greatly to China’s agricultural and rural development. Given that China is the world’s largest market for agricultural products and inputs, the agricultural and rural development of China boasts enormous domestic demand potential, which provides domestic and foreign-invested agricultural companies with plenty of room for development.

MARA is committed to pushing the opening-up of China’s agricultural sector to a higher level, by optimizing the business environment, shortening the negative list for foreign agricultural investment, and facilitating the operation of foreign-funded agricultural enterprises. Going forward, MARA will offer more guidance and services to foreign-invested enterprises to support their development in China.

Attending the symposium were executives from more than 20 foreign-funded agricultural enterprises, including CP Group and Cargill, as well as representatives from members of the Interministerial Joint Conference on Foreign Agricultural Cooperation.
