10 January 2024, China: Recently, the 2023 China-ASEAN Agricultural Machinery and Sugarcane Mechanization Expo, co-sponsored by the China Agricultural Mechanization Association, the Guangxi Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the China-ASEAN Expo Secretariat and other units, was held in Nanning, Guangxi. More than 200 agricultural machinery and upstream and downstream related companies from home and abroad came to participate in the exhibition. At the opening ceremony, 15 agricultural machinery projects were signed together, with a contract value of 380.8 million yuan. The number of contracted projects, contract value, and the number of enterprises and professional visitors from ASEAN countries participating in agricultural machinery supply and demand docking negotiations at this expo have all broken the records of previous expos.
According to reports, this expo has the theme of “building a platform for exchanges and cooperation and promoting the full mechanization of agricultural production”. It has 8 exhibition areas and 10 high-end forums and special activities. It has been officially included in the China-ASEAN Expo framework. What is different from previous editions is that there are two new exhibition areas, “China’s Agricultural Machinery in ASEAN” – China’s Export to ASEAN Agricultural Machinery Exhibition Area and Agricultural Mechanization Achievements Exhibition Area, as well as a new agricultural products exhibition area. In addition, for the first time, this expo will carry out agricultural machinery product recommendation and exchange and negotiation activities, agricultural machinery series promotion and promotion activities, China-ASEAN agricultural machinery supply and demand matchmaking meeting, farming culture and agricultural machinery culture promotion and experience activities, “Exhibition Farmland” agricultural machinery exhibition and experience, etc. 7 a special event.
Since 2016, Guangxi has successfully held six China-ASEAN Agricultural Machinery and Sugarcane Mechanization Expo. The expo has become the highest-standard and largest professional sugarcane mechanization exhibition in China. It also serves as the frontier and window for agricultural machinery cooperation between China and ASEAN countries. Over the years, To actively help improve the quality and efficiency of cooperation in the field of agricultural machinery, it has built a professional economic and trade communication bridge for China’s agricultural machinery products to “go out” and for ASEAN countries’ agricultural machinery products to “come in”.
In recent years, China’s agricultural machinery exports have increased year by year, with the ASEAN market share accounting for more than 20% of the total agricultural machinery exports. From 2020 to 2022, there are 16 agricultural machinery companies involved in foreign trade in Guangxi alone, with a cumulative export of 19,500 units (sets) of agricultural machinery and an export value of 119 million yuan, a significant increase compared to the past.
