12 March 2024, United States: Novonesis, the world leader in biological solutions, announces an expanded partnership with FMC. Starting with the 2025 growing season, FMC will become the exclusive distributor for selected Novonesis’ agricultural biosolutions in Canada. The two companies share a long history in agriculture and a passion for advancing farming through innovative solutions.

Canadian growers have entrusted their farms for over 120 years with brands like TagTeam®, Optimize®, JumpStart®, BioniQ®, Cell-Tech®, and Nitragin®. Novonesis, formerly Novozymes who recently merged with Chr. Hansen, continues its commitment to providing biosolutions to farmers around the globe through a partner approach in many regions. Canada is home to Novonesis’ Saskatoon Plant Biosolutions Manufacturing and Research site, supporting North American farmers with industry-leading compatibility testing and advanced research.

“FMC has a strong presence in Canada with consistent growth, complementary portfolio, and an organization proven successful in launching innovations that deliver value to Canadian farmers,” says Rene Garza, Novonesis Senior Vice President of Planetary Health Biosolutions. “Novonesis has made a large investment in bringing forward new solutions. In 2023, we introduced our improved granular product on over 10,000 acres of peas and lentils with a very high level of grower satisfaction. In 2024, we plan to have up to 10% of our TagTeam BioniQ pea and lentil product available in improved granule with full availability in 2025.”

FMC, an agricultural sciences company, focuses on advancing farming through innovative and sustainable crop protection technologies. For more than 130 years, FMC has been rooted in agriculture helping growers maximize their productivity, profitability, and sustainability. This partnership complements FMC’s existing product offering in the Canadian market providing proven biosolutions.

“We see this collaboration as a long-term investment,” says Devron McLeod, Country Manager, FMC Canada. “By working together, our goal is to provide sustainable plant health solutions that will help farmers continue to grow high quality crops despite the ever changing environmental and market conditions.”

The ongoing and expanding relationship between the two companies demonstrates a shared commitment to providing growers with biosolutions designed to improve yield by increasing nutrient availability and enhancing the plants natural processes.
