Industry-Academia Interaction Meet conducted by the Division of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry and Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI)
02 December 2023, New Delhi: The Division of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry (SS&AC), ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR-IARI), New Delhi and the Delhi Chapter of the Indian Society of Soil Science have jointly organized an Industry-Academia Interaction Meet on December 1, 2023 at 10:30 A.M. at the Conference Hall of the Division of SS&AC, ICAR-IARI as a part of the World Soil Day 2023 celebrations.
Dr. Nayan Ahmed, President of the Delhi Chapter of the Indian Society of Soil Science, welcomed all the delegates and gave a brief about the World Soil Day celebration. Dr. Debashis Mandal, Head, Division of SS&AC, ICAR-IARI, made a brief presentation on the research activities of the Division, followed by which Dr. T.J. Purakayastha, Professor, Division of SS&AC, ICAR-IARI, briefed about the human resource development (HRD) activities of the Division.
Dr. A. Velmurugan, ADG (S&WM), ICAR, New Delhi addressed the gathering as the chief guest. Representatives from five industries, viz. Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative (IFFCO), International Zinc Association (IZA), Harvesto Group, AngloAmerican, and Mosaic India Private Limited participated in the meeting. Besides, scientists and students from the Division of SS&AC also participated in the program. Representatives from the industries presented their views on the role of Academia on the Industry-Academia collaboration and had a thorough discussion with the chief guest, scientists, and students of the Division to decide the future course of action regarding the upcoming sustainable technologies for efficient nutrient management. The program ended with a formal vote of thanks from Dr. Prasenjit Ray, Scientist, Division of SS&AC, ICAR-IARI.
