Soil health cards will be distributed to 75 lakh farmers, Dr. Sumita Misra

27 May 2022, Chandigarh: Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department, Haryana,  Dr. Sumita Misra said that under the ‘Har Khet-Swasth Khet’ Abhiyan, about 75 lakh soil samples will be taken from cultivable land in 140 blocks in the State. Besides this, soil health cards will be distributed to 75 lakh farmers.

Dr. Sumita Misra shared this information during the launch of the portal of the state government’s ambitious campaign ‘Har Khet-Swasth Khet’ here today.

On this occasion, she also released the book ‘Margdarshika’ having detailed information on soil sample collection and analysis of the ‘Har Khet-Swasth Khet’ campaign.

Dr. Sumita Misra informed that through the Soil Health Card, the farmers would get the information about the quantity of various essential elements and nutrients available in the soil of their field and accordingly the recommendation would be given to use fertilizers in the field.  This target would be achieved in 3-4 years, she said.

Dr. Misra informed that the soil samples being taken under this campaign will be registered on this portal. At the time of registration, an SMS will be sent to the farmers informing as to which laboratory the soil sample of their field has been sent for analysis. After analysis and preparation of the soil health card, the information about the same will be sent to the farmer through SMS.

The farmers will be able to download the Soil Health Card from the website of the department by entering his phone number or the registration number of Meri Fasal – Mera Byora (MFMB), added Dr. Misra.

Director General, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department, Dr. Hardeep Singh, departmental officers and officers of other departments also remained present on this occasion.
