09 September 2022, Chandigarh: Haryana Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department has launched a new and unique initiative for the distribution of subsidies on agricultural equipment. According to which, for the first time, subsidies on agricultural equipment will be distributed through an “e-rupee voucher”.
Giving information in this regard, Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, Dr. Sumita Misra said that after the implementation of this new initiative, where on one hand the farmers need not have to run from pillar to post to get their subsidy, on the other hand more transparency will be ensured in the implementation of the scheme through this digital mode. He said that after being selected by the District Level Executive Committee, the farmers can negotiate with the manufacturers approved by the department regarding the cost of the respective equipment and grant money will be made available to them at the time of purchase.
Dr. Misra informed that now, the farmers will not have to pay the entire amount out of their pocket because after the e-rupee initiative, the farmers will have to pay only their share of the cost, thus the farmers, who earlier had to bear the interest against the total amount now that additional burden will be relieved.
