03 July 2023, Cartagena: Rijk Zwaan is pleased to invite industry professionals from around the world to its Global Melon & Watermelon event in CED La Palma, with this year’s theme: ‘Freshly Forward’. During this event, visitors can expect on-site field visits to see the company’s newest innovations and strong foundation concepts. In addition, visitors can gain valuable insights on future challenges and technology for melon and watermelon. The event will be held from 4-6 July in Cartagena and will be highlighting Rijk Zwaan’s new watermelon concept: Candyball.
In this new edition entitled ‘Freshly Forward’, Rijk Zwaan addresses the current challenges of the entire value chain by providing inspiring solutions and innovations to meet the demands of an increasingly competitive market across the entire melon and watermelon category. In melon: Yellow, Galia, Cantaloupe, Charentais, Ananas and Piel de Sapo. In watermelon: seedless, seeded and micro-seeded; as well as a range of varieties classified as innovation.
Participants will be able to check the quality of the product they need, such as flavour, firmness, shelf life and sustainability aspects of the varieties (resistance, behaviour to abiotic factors, etc.), throughout the 12 months of the year; as well as finding out about trends that provide value to consumers.
