20 October 2022, Chandigarh: Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Mr. J.P Dalal and Cooperation Minister, Dr. Banwari Lal today jointly chaired a meeting to review preparations being made for crushing sugarcane in cooperative sugar mills before the commencement of the upcoming crushing season.

During the meeting, the process of purchasing lubricants, caustic soda and other materials for sugar mills was also completed.

In the meeting, it was also decided to run sugar mills a little earlier as compared to last year for the interest of farmers. Besides this, approval was also given to set up an ethanol project from a B-heavy system based on molasses. An ethanol plant will be set up at Panipat’s sugar mill with a B-heavy system. The quality of ethanol made from this system is good and it will also get good prices in the market.

The demand for ethanol is increasing continuously in the future. In this way, ethanol plants will prove to be very effective in recovering sugar mills from losses.

Forming a milk society is a revolutionary step in the field of cooperatives. More and more youth and women should be associated with these societies so that they can be made financially empowered and self-reliant. In these societies, more emphasis will be laid on making curd, lassi, paneer, cheese, pinni, ghee etc. other food items produced from milk.

Detailed discussion was also held in the meeting regarding setting standards for molasses coming out in sugar mills and milk plants to be set up in Rewari. Besides this, a detailed discussion was also held regarding the opening of agro mall, common preparation, formation of a milk society at the village level, mini dairy, and expert house.
