Farmers and entrepreneurs honoured for millet business

18 May 2023, Punjab: Farmers, entrepreneurs and scientists from across India, engaged in millet farming, processing and marketing, participated in the brain storming meet “Enhancing Production and Value Addition of Millets” held at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) recently.

Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice-Chancellor, PAU, appreciated the efforts of the farmers and entrepreneurs in taking a lead in diversification and honored them with mementos.

Entrepreneurs engaged in the millet business exhibited their food products prepared from millets. There was a special interactive session organized for the farmers and entrepreneurs to share their views about their experience in millet farming, processing and marketing.

Dr AS Dhatt, Director of Research, PAU, proposed a vote of thanks.

Dr GS Mangat, Additional Director Research (Crop Improvement); Dr VS Sohu, Head, Department of Plant Breeding and Genetics; Dr RS Sohu, Incharge, Forage, Millets and Nutrition Section and Dr Ramandeep Singh, Director, School of Agribusiness Studies, PAU also joined the award ceremony.
