Farmer awareness camp organized by regional research station ballowal saunkhri under gramin krishi mausam sewa seheme

05 March 2022, Punjab: A Farmers awareness program was organized at village Naudhemajra (Nurpur Bedi) by RRS Ballowal Saunkhri under the Gramin Krishi Mausam Sewa Seheme. Dr. Gurvinder Singh, Extension Scientist, welcomed the farmers.

Dr. Navneet Kaur, Scientist Agro meterology, gave information about current weather trends in Kandi region of Punjab.She explained about work being done at research station under Gramin Krishi Mausam Sewa Seheme and encouraged the farmers to register their mobile number for getting maximum benefits from weather forecast messages and android apps launched by IMD.

Dr.K.K.Sharma, Plant Pathologist, made the farmers to understand about the of role of weather in occurrence of diseases. He informed them about the yellow rust disease, its causes of occurrence and remedies for control.

Dr.Hemant Thakur, shared his views for the cultivation of vegetables and kitchen gardening using available resources. Farmers also shared their views during the discussion session of the camp.

At the end of the camp, Dr.Gurvinder Singh thanked all the farmers for being part of this camp. The improved vegetable kits were distributed to farmers at this occasion. Around 45 farmers attended the camp.
