“Our Grains Research Updates are not just presentations of the latest research, they offer a platform for meaningful discussions between growers, researchers, and agronomists on topics that matter in that region,” she said.
“We’ve got a great line-up of topics which have been selected by local growers and advisers to ensure the information being presented is relevant to the local farming systems.
“Speakers are briefed to address issues within their presentations that have been raised by local growers and advisers.
“It’s an opportunity to discuss how new findings fit into local farming systems and deliver real value to growers.
“Being able to hear about the research is great, but hearing about how that research can be applied to achieve outcomes is even better.”
Covering a diverse range of topics relevant to local farming systems, this season’s Grains Research Updates will focus on the practical application of farming systems projects and innovative strategies for weed management.
Other focus areas include nutrition and nitrogen investment, sustainability in farming, and tackling cereal diseases.
Previous Grains Research Updates have been widely praised by attendees for the value they provided to growers. In 2022, 95% of attendees rated the event highly and GRDC received comments such as:
