Bilateral meeting with the Minister Commissioner for Food Security of the Republic of Mali – His Excellency Redouwane Ag Mohamed Ali
28 July 2023, Rome: FAO Director-General QU Dongyu and His Excellency Redouwane Ag Mohamed Ali, Minister Commissioner for Food Security of the Republic of Mali, met following the UN Food Systems Summit +2 Stocktaking Moment which took place at FAO Headquarters from 24 to 26 July 2023.
The Minister congratulated the Director-General on the excellent result of his re-election and informed him of the review, with the support of FAO, being undertaken of the major national development frameworks, including the National Policy on Agricultural Mechanization, the Strategic Framework for Economic Recovery and Sustainable Development; the Agricultural Development Policy and the Food Security and Nutrition Policy. He underlined the continued need for investments in agrifood systems to facilitate the transformation.
The Director-General thanked the Minister and appreciated the efforts being made and the work being carried out. He emphasized the importance of political stability to attract investments and also create an environment for development. The Director-General also reaffirmed that the Organization will continue to support Mali in developing its National Pathway.
