16 December 2022, Iowa: Scott Peterson, a farmer from Miller, South Dakota, won the Ultimate Farm Truck, a custom-built Ford F-350 Lariat Crew Cab, as part of a giveaway sponsored by Pivot Bio. Peterson was awarded the truck during the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas.

The truck, which was built by Heavy D, Diesel Dave and the crew at Sparks Motors as part of the five-episode show, Ultimate Farm Truck that aired on RFDTV and streamed online, included a laundry-list of farmer-specified features gathered to make the truck one-of-a-kind.

“We traveled to different farms and asked farmers what they wanted and needed in a farm truck. What we found helped us build the perfect truck for them,” said Diesel Dave. “We build a lot of trucks and this one was by far one of our favorites. So much so that we didn’t want to give it away because we fell in love with it ourselves.”

The Ultimate Farm Truck is a unique vehicle, complete with a one-of-a-kind custom flatbed built by Highway Products, Raycore lights generating over 200,000 lumens, a boot washer, a welder/generator combo, two 70-gallon auxiliary tanks with auto pumps, integrated inverters in the toolboxes, a snack fridge and a custom Sparks Motors Company bumper, to name a few of the additions.

With the uniqueness of the truck, how it was given away had to be just as different. Fourteen finalists were randomly selected from the entries and then each one was assigned a proxy, who then competed in a farm-inspired competition, including digging through a corn pit and dramatically racing through a corn maize race to select the winner.

“I still can’t believe it, honestly,” said Scott Peterson, the winner of the Ultimate Farm Truck. “It was mind-blowing. I was having a pretty bad day when I got the call that I had won. It has taken a long time to sink in. I never dreamed I would ever win anything so cool. It really turned a bad week of combining soybeans into a crazy week of emotions. I can’t thank Pivot Bio and the Sparks Motors team enough.”

Pivot Bio has spent years developing its microbial nitrogen products to not only give farmers a more sustainable and more predictable tool for farmers to use, but also to make their lives easier on the farm. That mindset is continued with the Ultimate Farm Truck.

“Farmers are at the heart of what we do at Pivot Bio,” said Mark Reisinger, Vice President – Commercial Operations, Pivot Bio. “What better way to show that we hear them then by asking them directly what they need and not only making it, but giving it away?”

Pivot Bio continues to keep that “listening to customers” mentality going and recently unveiled plans for the follow-up to the Ultimate Farm Truck, the Ultimate Ranch Truck in 2023.

Pivot Bio Originals includes all-new original programming that connects viewers with more powerful ideas. These shows engage, enlighten and entertain farmers and communities while supporting agriculture organizations, such as FFA, as we work together to build the future of agriculture.
