22 November 2022, AU: For nearly two years, Eliza Connors has been working as a Sales Support Officer with Elders QLD/NT in the stud stock team, and is loving every bit of her role.

Ms Connors’ job is to assist the stud stock specialists in managing, marketing and processing on site and private sales, but her role encompasses a whole lot more than that.

“My role with Elders is varied and gives me so much satisfaction,” she said.

“It involves a lot of communicating with the vendors to ensure that we are across everything that they need for their sale.

“Visiting the vendors presale is hugely important for us to make sure we are all working collaboratively and on the same page.”

“I also organise the different locations and venues and work with the team on putting together the plan for the clients’ sales,” she said.

When commenting on what she enjoys the most in her role, Eliza gets satisfaction from seeing the whole process of a sale coming together.

“What I enjoy the most is being involved with a sale from start to finish – seeing the whole process from word go and ensuring the vendor gets the most out of it and seeing their successes.

“I especially love travelling around and meeting a range of different people. My role does involve a lot of travel, which I really enjoy.”

Some of the highlights for Eliza this 2022 stud stock season was seeing the Elders QLD/NT auctioneers in action.

“To see Anthony Ball auction off the record-breaking Droughtmaster bull was an amazing experience.

“They all did an amazing job, week in, week out in helping our clients achieve the best results for their studs.”

Eliza has been learning the ropes from some of the most experienced and successful stud stock agents in the country, who have all been helping her with her career journey at Elders so far.

“It is great to be in a team with so much experience. Getting to learn bits and pieces off everyone in the team has certainly helped me progress.

“This is my first office job, and although I have only been here for two years, I have been made to feel empowered to just get on and do my job. Our team have instilled a lot of trust in me and it makes it really easy to come to work each day.

“I have also been able to be really creative – which I love – and the role and the people around me have really allowed my passions to flourish. That is what I love most about Elders.”
