14 December 2021, Australia: Elders is pleased to sign on as a Diamond sponsor for the biggest dairy event in Australia International Dairy Week 2022 (IDW).

The event will be held from 16 to 20 January 2022 in Tatura, Victoria.

National Dairy Manager for Elders Rob French says that the event is an important opportunity for stud and commercial dairy farmers and other industry stakeholders around the country to collaborate and network.

“With Elders’ dairy business expanding over the past number of years, we see this as an opportunity to meet face to face with our previous and new clients and show our support and commitment to the Australian dairy farming industry,” said Mr French.

“The event will feature six National Breed Shows and a National Youth Show comprising over 1,000 head of dairy cattle, allowing breeders and next generation dairy farmers the opportunity to compete for prestigious awards for each breed. Over 180 dairy breeders will be on show.”

The current outlook for Australian dairy production is overall positive, with tight global supply driving higher prices and consumer confidence improving lending itself to increased spending on dairy products, however there are key challenges that require problem solving for producers.

Events like IDW are crucial to collaboration and information sharing to bring solutions to farmgate.

“Many site displays will be available for producers to have face-to-face contact with business representatives enabling them access to the latest technology in dairy farming,” said Mr French.

Despite challenges, the total value of milk production is forecast to exceed $4.9 billion in 2021/22, up 6.8 per cent compared to 2020/21 and the highest value of milk production on record. This environment lays the foundations for producers to look to the future with some confidence in decision making, whether expanding or fine tuning their operation.

International Dairy Week is telecast internationally and has previously attracted 25,000 viewers logged on the watch the event.
