Ambuja Foundation and IndusInd Bank Partner to Launch Integrated Water Resource Management Initiative
26 February 2024, Mumbai: Ambuja Foundation, known for its various efficient water management programs, today announced its partnership with IndusInd Bank to launch the Integrated Water Resource Management Program (IWRMP) in the Mahad area of Raigad district in Maharashtra. The collaborative initiative aims to confront and address the various challenges concerning water and agriculture that prevail in nine different villages of the Gandhari Catchments Cluster in the region.
The newly launched program aims to create awareness among the villagers around water conservation practices through the implementation of comprehensive measures such as soil water conservation, rainwater harvesting, and groundwater recharge. The IWRMP project focuses on achieving sustainable water access by deploying innovative technological solutions and ensuring year-round clean drinking water in the project villages. These initiatives aim to extend the water retention period, reduce runoff, and subsequently increase income generation for villagers. Moreover, the project seeks to optimize agricultural practices.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by the presence of distinguished guests such as Mr. Akhlaque Khan, CSR Manager IndusInd Bank; Mr. Akash Surase, General Manager, Bharat Financial Inclusion Ltd; Ms. Seema Bendugade, Sarpanch Pachad; Mr. Jayesh Lamje, Sarpanch, Punade Nate; and Mr. Bharat Kadam, Agriculture Officer, Government of Maharashtra, Mr. Shailesh Lambe, Regional Head, Maharashtra, Ambuja Foundation; Mr. Rakesh Baraskar, Project Coordinator – Mahad, Ambuja Foundation.
As part of the program, an Innovative Village Resources Centre at Kinjloli BK Partekond was also launched. The center will work as a knowledge hub fostering awareness about water and agriculture best practices and techniques among villagers. Under the IWRMP project, related construction works in Raigadwadi (Koliawhad), Punadewadi, Kondaran, Punade tarfe Nate villages will also take place, symbolizing a commitment to infrastructural development aligning with the broader objectives of the Integrated Water Resource Management Program.
