Germany is the biggest market for Vietnamese coffee

10 November 2021, Vietnam: According to the Industry and Trade Information Center (Ministry of Industry and Trade), in the first nine months of 2021, coffee exports reached 1.18 million tons of coffee, equivalent to 2.23 billion USD, with an average price of 1,883.7 USD per ton. Compared to the same period last year, coffee exports decreased by 5.4% in volume, but increased by 3.4% in value and increased by 9.2% in price.

In the first nine months of 2021, the most Vietnam’s coffee exports was to the German market, 181,014 tons, equivalent to 319.52 million USD, priced at 1,765.2 USD per ton, down 1% in volume but up 13.8% in turnover and 14.9% in price over the same period in 2020. Coffee exported to Germany accounted for 15.3% of the total volume and accounted for 14.3% of the total coffee export turnover of the country.

The US is the second largest market for Vietnamese coffee. In the first nine months of 2021, coffee exports to the US reached 96,472 tons, equivalent to 189.42 million USD, priced at 1,963 USD per ton, down 13.9% in volume, down 5% in turnover but up 10.2% in value over the same period last year, accounting for over 8% of total export volume and turnover.

Coffee exports to the Italian market reached 100,464 tons, equivalent to 171.82 million USD, the average price was 1,710.3 USD per ton, down 11.9% in volume, down 4% in turnover but up 9% in price, accounting for 8.5% of the total volume and 7.7% of the total coffee export turnover in the first 9 months of the year.
