Carbaryl

Carbaryl is a carbamate insecticide that is widely used to protect fruit and vegetable crops from a variety of pests, including caterpillars, aphids, and beetles. It works by inhibiting acetylcholinesterase in the insect’s nervous system, leading to paralysis and death.

Though effective, carbaryl is toxic to humans and wildlife in higher doses, and its use is increasingly regulated in many countries.
