The Aim Of The Government Is To Increase The Income Of The Farmers

18 October 2021, Chandigarh: Haryana Agriculture Minister, Sh. JP Dalal has said that the state government has implemented several schemes with the aim of safeguarding the farmers of the state from risks.  The aim of the government is to increase the income of the farmers.

Agriculture Minister was interacting with media persons in Rohtak today.  He elaborated on the achievements of the government as the state government led by Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal will soon be completing 7 years on October 26.

Sh. JP Dalal said that the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, which was implemented in the year 2016, is proving beneficial for the farmers.  So far, farmers have been given a compensation of Rs 4,000 crore under this scheme.  Similarly, under the Pashudhan Credit Scheme, a compensation amount of about Rs 800 crore has been given to the cattle owners.  He said that Haryana is the first state in the country where cattle farmers have got maximum benefit under this scheme.  At the same time, he also said that under the new scheme, insurance of up to Rs 40,000 is being done in the field of horticulture.  He said that crops have been damaged in some areas due to rain in the past, the government has taken suo motu cognizance of this and special girdawari is being done.

The Agriculture Minister said that Haryana is the first state in the country where 11 crops are being purchased at Minimum Support Price.  The time period deadline for payment of crops has been fixed at 72 hours.  If payment is not made within this limit, then a provision has been made to pay interest.  He said that in the last season, interest of more than Rs 1 crore has been paid to the farmers.

The Agriculture Minister also enumerated in detail about several schemes launched by the state and central government related to farmers.
