11 December 2020, Punjab, IN: The Department of Extension Education, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), organized a training-cum-demonstration on “Winter Vegetable Processing” under the guidance of Dr JS Mahal, Director of Extension Education and Dr Kuldeep Singh, Head, Department of Extension Education. The training aimed at encouraging the women to adopt scientific methods of aachar, chutney and murabba preparation as a passion.
Dr Kamalpreet Kaur, Extension Scientist, while welcoming the participants and subject experts, shed light on the importance of the training course and shared different aspects of nutritional diet. She motivated the women to come forward to adopt this as a source of income.
Dr Kulvir Kaur, Assistant Professor (Home Science), explained the preparation of nutritional aachar from various seasonal vegetables. She also demonstrated the method of murraba making from amla at home.
Dr Pankaj Kumar, Extension Scientist, proposed a vote of thanks and encouraged the women to utilize the surplus vegetables through processing.
During the demonstrations, rural women evinced keen interest in this course and lauded the efforts of the organizers.
