PAU Organizes Training Camp On Integrated Weed Management In Wheat Crop

17 December 2020, Punjab, IN: The Department of Extension Education, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), organized a training camp on “Integrated Weed Management in Wheat Crop” in the village Rajoana, district Ludhiana. The camp was held under the guidance of Dr JS Mahal, Director of Extension Education and Dr Kuldeep Singh, Head, Department of Extension Education, PAU.

Dr Kamalpreet Kaur, Extension Scientist, while welcoming the farmers, stressed upon the judicious use of natural resources and environmental protection. She urged the farmers to adopt integrated weed management in wheat crop. She also advised rural youth to develop close rapport with PAU experts for scientific guidance and profitable farming. In addition, she explained different scholarships programmes of the University.

Dr Manpreet Singh, Agronomist, explained different weeds of rabi crops, their symptoms and management. He stressed upon the integrated approach of weed management.

Dr Pankaj Kumar, Extension Scientist, proposed a vote of thanks. He urged the farmers to use different techniques to reduce expenses on agriculture. He also advised them to follow PAU recommendations to manage wheat crop.

Later, the team of scientists visited different demonstration plots of wheat crop in adopted village.
