PAU imparts training in pest and disease management in Horti-crops
15 February 2021, Chandigarh, IN: The Skill Development Centre, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), organized a two-day online training course on “Pest and Disease Management in Horticulture Crops” for in-service candidates under the guidance of Dr Jaskarn Singh Mahal, Director of Extension Education. In total, 16 candidates participated in this training course.
Dr Tejinder Singh Riar, Associate Director (Skill Development), observed that the training course on disease management and pest control in various horticulture crops would be very useful for the in-service participants.
Dr Lavleesh Garg, Course Coordinator, said this was a knowledge booster training for in-service candidates to increase their working skills.
Fruit Science experts Dr Sandeep Singh and Dr Anita Arora thoroughly explained the pest management as well as disease management in fruit crops, respectively.
Dr Amarjeet Singh, Senior Extension Specialist (Plant Pathology), dwelt upon disease management in vegetable crops, whereas Dr Ravinder Singh Chandi, a PAU expert, dwelt upon pest management in vegetable crops.
The Technical Coordinator Dr Jaswinder Singh Brar informed that Skill Development Centre, PAU, will organize more online trainings for in-service candidates in future.
Later, Dr Garg proposed a vote of thanks.
