PAU Holds Training Course On Soybean Processing

09 December 2020, Punjab, IN: A total of 40 farmers and farm women attended the training course on “Soybean Processing,” organized by the Skill Development Center, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) under the guidance of Dr Jaskarn Singh Mahal, Director of Extension Education.

In his remarks, Dr TS Riar, Associate Director (Skill Development), said farmers and farm women can get good economic returns from the processing of soybean.

The Course Coordinator Dr Rupinder Kaur shed light on the importance of the training course, process for acquiring training’s in skill development at PAU and Virtual Food Craft Mela, to be organized by the University in the coming weeks.

Dr Poonam A Sachdev, Head, Department of Food Science and Technology, advised the trainees to focus on quality of the product rather than its quantity.

Dr Arshdeep Singh, Dr Jaspreet Kaur and Dr Kanwaljit Kaur, PAU experts, demonstrated the preparation of flavored milk, cheese, various snacks and bakery products using soybean.

Dr Lavleesh Garg, Extension Scientist, proposed a vote of thanks and urged the trainees to benefit from the training by applying the acquired knowledge in the preparation of soy products.
