Mathematics And Data Contribute Significantly In Research Work As Both Help Greatly In Arriving At Conclusive Results

28 December, 2020, Chandigarh, IN: The Vice-Chancellor,  Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, Professor Samar Singh said that mathematics and data contribute significantly in research work as both help greatly in  arriving at conclusive results.

Professor Samar Singh was speaking on the occasion of National Study Seminar organized on the occasion of National Mathematics Day 2020 in the University.

The event was organized in collaboration with Haryana State Council for Science, Innovation and Technology.  Dr. Rajvir Singh, Dean of Basic Sciences and Humanities said that the programme has been organized to commemorate the birth anniversary of India’s renowned mathematician Mr. Srinivasa Ramanujan.  

The Keynote Speakers of the programme were Dr. D.S Hooda, former Professor, HAU and Honorary Professor, Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology who highlighted the importance of mathematics and information theory.  

Dr. Manju Singh Tonk, Head, Department Mathematics and Statistics, said that two phases of programmes were organized by the Department of Mathematics and Statistics on this occasion. 

In the first phase, quiz, debate and poster making competitions were organized to increase interest and awareness of the school and college students in Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science. In the second phase, National Study Seminar was organized on Mathematics, Statistics, Computer and Behavioural Sciences subjects. 

She informed that a one-day online seminar was also organized during this period, in which, 84 researchers from across the country presented their research papers on the topics of Mathematics, Statistics, Computer and Agricultural Economics.
