KVK Ropar created awareness on crop residue management

11 February 2021, Punjab, IN: KrishiVigyan Kendra, Ropar organized one day awareness camp for mobilization of college students under the aegis of Directorate of Extension Education, Punjab Agricultural University and ICAR-ATARI Zone-1, Ludhiana. The programme was conducted at Govt College, Ropar on February 11 under the guidance of Dr. G.S. Makkar, Deputy Director (Trg.) KVK, Ropar.

Dr. Makkar apprised the participants of various aspects of Crop Residue Management project of the KVK and discussed the importance of residue management in relation with environment conservation. He added that CRM machinery like Happy Seeder, Rotavator, MB Plough, available at KVK are provided to the farmers free of cost for managing crop residue in their fields.

On the occasion, Dr. Princy conducted student competitions under categories of essay writing, slogan writing and poster making and best entries among respective categories were felicitated.

Dr. Jaswinder Kaur (Principal) also encouraged the students for their participation and motivated them to spread the information related to management of paddy residue at their village level.
