Haryana Has Been Awarded With Best State Agriculture Leadership Award 2021
Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Sh. J.P Dalal received the award
22 October 2021, Chandigarh: Haryana has been awarded with Best State Agriculture Leadership Award 2021 as a result of the innovations being done in the Agriculture Sector for the last seven years and implementation of advanced methods in the field of Agriculture.
The award which was conferred by the Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Sh. Narendra Singh Tomar was received by Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Sh. J.P Dalal during 12th Agriculture Leadership Conclave and Leadership Awards 2021 organized by Agriculture Today Group in New Delhi last evening. The progressive farmer of the state Sh. Kanwal Singh Chouhan was also rewarded in the programme.
Addressing the 12th Agriculture Leadership Conclave and Leadership Awards 2021, Sh. J.P Dalal said that various steps have been taken by Haryana Government in view of improvement in the field of Agriculture including proper use of water for irrigation, diversification of crops consuming less water and implementing various schemes to increase farmers’ income.
He said that the Haryana Government under the leadership of the Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal is making consistent efforts towards increasing the income of farmers. The Agriculture Minister said that Haryana is mainly an agrarian state. The state contributes majority towards providing food grains to the central pool. He said that at present times, more attention is being given towards diversification of crops and promoting horticulture and vegetable cultivation in the state. Moreover, the State Government is making concrete efforts to generate more employment opportunities through dairying and animal husbandry and exploring alternatives to set up farm gate processing units in the state. Saline water areas in the state are an excellent producer of Shrimp fish farming, he added.
Sh. Dalal said that farmers rearing Shrimp fish on 2.5 acres of land have generated an income of about Rs 55 lakh and their total expenditure was less than Rs 20 lakh. He further said that no one can imagine that a farmer can earn such a huge profit from 2.5 acres of land.
