Haryana govt transfers 12,379 crore to farmer accounts for wheat procurement

05 May 2021, Chandigarh: For the wheat purchased in the mandis/procurement centres of Haryana till May 5, 2021, an amount of Rs. 12,379 crore has been paid directly to the farmers’ bank accounts. In addition to this, so far 9,23,006 J-forms are generated of 4,99,154 farmers.

Giving information in this regards, a government spokesperson said that till date a total of 80.54 lakh tonnes of wheat has been procured in the mandis.

He said that due to exponential surge in Covid-19 the government has decided to stop the procurement of wheat in all the mandis/procurement centres of the State till May 9, 2021 but the lifting of wheat procured in mandis would be ensured on daily basis.

He informed that during Lockdown, there will be no work for procurement of wheat in the mandis/procurement centres, neither any gate pass will be issued for the same. Therefore, the farmers are requested to stay at home during this sensitive time and do not leave the house until it is very necessary.
