24 September 2020, Chandigarh, IN: Haryana Government will procure 100 percent of paddy, maize, bajra and cotton crops registered under the ‘Meri Fasal Mera Byora’ (MFMB) scheme during Kharif-2020. Registered farmers will be issued e-gate passes to mandis to ensure hassle-free procurement.

While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department said that consistent efforts have been made to ensure 100 percent coverage of all farmers under the scheme.

Now, with details of crops and land in hand, officers of the Department would be able to calculate average yield and set a benchmark for procurement. An additional relaxation of ten per cent over the average yield would also be given, he added.

Keeping in view variations in crop yields across the State, the assessments would be carried out block-wise through crop cutting experiments. The data from last year’s crop cutting experiments would be considered while ascertaining the yields, where the experiments could not be performed at this time.

He said that this had been done to ensure that all the farmers are able to sell their harvest in the markets, but would also not leave any room for malpractices.
