Haryana farmers satisfied with the crop procurement
29 July 2020, Chandigarh: The farmers of Haryana are satisfied with the efficient and transparent procurement of crops done by the State Government. The procurement of sunflower started on June 5, 2020, and every single grain was procured by the State Government at the Minimum Support Price (MSP). The farmers of the state today met Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Mr. Dushyant Chautala at his residence and thanked him.

Farmers led by MLA Shahbad, Mr. Ram Karan Kala said that this time the State Government had procured each and every grain of sunflower at MSP of Rs 5,650 per quintal, which is a big step in the interest of farmers. Sunflower is mainly produced in Kurukshetra, Ambala, Panchkula, and Yamunanagar.

On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister, Mr. Dushyant Chautala said that the State Government had decided to procure sunflower at MSP in a view to double the income of farmers and to provide remunerative prices to them. He said that several steps have been taken by the State Government to promote Crop Diversification programme and to promote crops that require less water for ripening besides oilseeds and pulses in the state under the ‘Mera Pani, Meri Virasat’ scheme.
