24 November 2021, Chandigarh: Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Sh. J.P Dalal directed the officials of Irrigation Department to ensure adequate supply of water for irrigation in water channels in Loharu constituency as the farmers are facing a shortage of canal water during the sowing of Rabi crops.
While presiding over meeting of Irrigation Department, he directed the officials to expedite the repair work of pumps installed at Siwani Canal so that the water can be supplied uto tail-ends of the channels in Loharu Constituency.
He further directed the officials to complete the cleaning of water channels soon so as to speed up the adequate supply of water in every village under the constituency. He assured the farmers that they will not face any difficulty during the sowing of Rabi crops. In addition to this, he urged the people to harvest water in tanks, ponds and small water channels in the constituency so that water level can be maintained and the stored water can be used during the shortage of water.
Additional Chief Secretary, Irrigation Department, Sh. Devender Singh, Engineer in Chief, Sh. Satbir Singh Kadian and other officers of Irrigation Department were also present during the meeting.
