HAFED ties up Haryana Agricultural University for Bio-fertilizers

Chandigarh: Haryana State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation Limited (HAFED), has decided to tie-up with Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar to make available good quality Bio-Fertilizers to the farmers. This collaboration will also promote the use of Bio-Fertilizers for improving soil health as well as boosting Agriculture Production.

Sharing more details in this regard, an official spokesman of HAFED said that use of these Bio-Fertilizers by farmers will lead to better germination for robust and healthy crop growth. It will also result in saving of 20-25 percent of chemical fertilizers like urea.

He said that the Bio-Fertilizers would be made available through the sale outlets of HAFED, Cooperative Marketing Societies, and PACS under tripartite MoU between HAFED, Haryana Agricultural University, and Habitat Genome Improvement Primary Producer Company.

The spokesman said that good quality Bio-Fertilizers like Azotobactor, Rhizobium and PSB (Phosphorus Solubilising Bacteria) etc are being produced in the Centre of Bio-Fertilizers Production and Technology of Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar. These Bio-Fertilizers will be sold through the HAFED outlets by arranging on consignment basis, he added.
