Field day on “adopt DSR and PAU new maize hybrid pmh-13 and save resources” organised by FASC, kapurthala

13 July 2021, Punjab: A field day on “Adopt DSR and PAU hybrid maize PNH-13 and save resources” was organised by Farm Advisory Service Centre, Kapurthala and Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kapurthala in collaboration with Regional Research Station, Kapurthala and other line departments at village Boolpur, block Sultanpur Lodhi on dated 09-07-2021. Among the team of experts, Dr Paramjit Singh, Director, Regional Research Station, Kapurthala, Dr Satbir Singh, Deputy Director (Trg.), KVK, Kapurthala, Dr Pardeep Kumar, Senior Extension Scientist, FASC, Kapurthala, Dr Onkar Singh, Senior Agronomist, Dr Amandeep Kaur, Asstt. Prof (Vegetables), Dr Amit Salaria, Asstt. Prof (Agronomy), Dr Suman, Asstt Prof. (Entomology), Dr Ashwani Kumar, Chief Agricultural Officer, Kapurthala were present. They shared their views on benefits of Direct Seeded Rice technology and also motivated farmers to use PAU new maize hybrid PMH-13 for better yield and good quality and taste.

Farmers gathered in spectacular number with zeal and zest to listen to the views of experts and showed their inclination towards both DSR technology and PAU new maize hybrid PMH-13. Experts also addressed to the queries of farmers regarding agriultural problems. On this occasion, progressive farmers from different blocks S Ichha Singh, Barindpur, S Sarwan Singh Chandi, Boolpur, S Dara Singh, Boolpur, S Sukhdev Singh, Bhullar Bet also shared their views with farmers. On this occasion, farmers from different blocks S Amrik Singh Chandi, Master Sucha Singh, Mirzapur, Capt. Joginder Singh, Master Des Raj, S Sukhwinder Singh, S Baldev Singh, S Karnial Singh were present.

Free seed kits of new maize hybrid PMH-13 and plants of desi rose, moringa and desi mango were distributed among the farmers. An impressive exhibition of PAU publications was also put up on this occasion. A farmer-scientists interaction was the highlight of the programme. In the end, progressive farmer S Dara Singh, Boolpur proposed the vote of thanks to the experts and farmers.
