Direction Of Direct Payments To The Farmers Via Aadhaar-Linked Bank Accounts
22 February 2021, Chandigarh, IN: Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare today awarded Kurukshetra district of Haryana for its remarkable work in the direction of direct payments to the farmers via Aadhaar-linked bank accounts. The award was presented at a function organised in New Delhi today on the completion of two years of successful implementation of Pradhan Mantri KIsan SAmman Nidhi Yojna (PM-KISAN).
Giving information in this regard, an official spokesperson said that this award was given by Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Sh. Narendra Singh Tomar to Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Sh. J.P Dalal. It is worth mentioning that this award was presented for the highest percentage of Aadhaar authenticated farmer beneficiaries in Kurukshetra district of Haryana. Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Sh Kailash Choudhary was also present during the occasion, he informed.
He said that notably, 5 states and 15 districts have been awarded in various categories of awards by the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare in New Delhi for outstanding work in successful implementation of various schemes towards the development and welfare of Agriculture Sector.
