Crackdown: Punjab Agriculture Department lodges FIRs against twelve firms allegedly involved in malpractices in DAP supply
16 November 2021, Chandigarh: Taking iron handedly about DAP overpricing, hoarding, and tagging, Punjab Agriculture Department has started crackdown campaign vigorously and FIRs lodged against twelve firms allegedly involved in overpricing, diversion of subsidized urea for industrial purpose, tagging other products, and sale of fertilizers from unauthorized sale point.
Talking about the development, Punjab Agriculture Minister Randeep Singh Nabha said that FIRs have been lodged against M/s Mand Khad Store, Village Dakoha, Block Shri Hargobindpur Sahib, M/s Sidhu Kheti Store, Village Dakoha, Block Shri Hargobindpur Sahib (both of Gurdaspur district), M/s Ranjit Pesticides, Village Sangowal, Block Nakodar (Jalandhar) for overpricing and process of license cancellation is underway. He further said that the department has also registered a case against M/s Victory Biotech Pvt. Ltd., Block Sardulgarh (Mansa) for allegedly involved in sale of misbranded DAP and the process of license cancellation is in progress.
Mr. Nabha pointed out that FIR against M/s Ram Murti Gupta & Sons Phillour (Jalandhar) has been registered for allegedly being involved in the diversion of subsidized Urea for industrial purposes) and license cancellation process under process. M/s Thuha Pesticides & Seed Store, Zirakpur (SAS Nagar) found allegedly involved in tagging of other products with DAP and FIR has been Lodged and license cancellation process is going on. He informed that M/s Chugh Khad Bhandar, Jalalabad, M/s Chugh Trading Company, Jalalabad, M/s Chugh Khad Store, Jalalabad, M/S Bhata Co-operative Fruit & Vegetable Processing Sabha, Jalalabad, and M/s Ajay Trading Company, Jalalabad have found allegedly involved in hoardings. FIRs registered against these firms and show cause notice also served.
The Agriculture Minister mentioned that M/s Jindal Agency, Giddarbaha (Sri Muktsar Sahib) also found in the sale of fertilizer from unauthorized sale point. FIR has been lodged and show cause notice served. He said that administrative action was also initiated against the Agriculture Officer of Patiala for action not being taken against hoarding/black marketing of DAP.
