CM disburses Rs.25 crores to 2908 farmers and farm labourers of Gandhara Sugar

06 September 2020, Gandhinagar: Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Rupani disbursed a sum of Rs.25 crores to 2908 farmers and farm labourers of Co-operative Sugarcane Union of Gandhara Sugar, Vadodara through an online video conference. The Chief Minister addressed the farmers of 31 centres and disbursed the amount which was due for the year 2018-19.

The Chief Minister gave checks to 6 farmers of Shinor and Karjan in Gandhinagar.

During his address to farmers, ministers and M.Ps and others, the CM said, “ The state government took the decision of providing the pending assistance of Rs.25 crores within a week keeping in mind the welfare of farmers of Vadodara Sugarcane Union. And it was made possible through this program today.”

The state government is committed to ensure the welfare of the farmers and provide them the fruits of their hard work. The proactive government believes in providing before the demand arises. “The people of India have put faith in the Modi Government in Delhi. My government is working hard to live up to the expectations of the people and strengthen this faith further,” Mr. Rupani added.

The state government has allocated a sum of Rs.2000 crores in the current Annual Budget for Mukhyamantri Kisan Sahay Yojana to benefit the farmers engaged in sowing and harvesting Kharif crops.

The state government initiated the “Saat Pagla Khedut Kalyan Na’ Yojana wherein it provides Rs.900 per month to farmers engaged in organic farming, a subsidy of Rs.30,000 for constructing godowns and assistance for purchasing vehicles.

The state government has purchased grains at MSP worth more than Rs.15,000 crores in the last 4 years.

The CM also said that the state’s journey of development is on the path of progress, but with precautions, keeping in mind the pandemic. 

Minister of Co-operatives Mr. Ishwarsinh Parmar said, “ Gujarat Government has been working for the welfare of farmers since the last 25 years. The then Chief Minister and the current Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi started the Krishi Mahotsav in 2005 . This was the first step towards doubling the income of farmers. And today, the government under Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Rupani has come up with schemes like Saat Pagla Khedut Kalyan Na, Mukhyamantri Kisan Sahay Yojana and many others in order to ensure the prosperity of the farmers of Gujarat.”

Minister of State for Home Department Mr.Pradeepsinh Jadeja thanked the Chief Minister for ensuring the welfare of the farmers and talked about some important measures like the Land Grabbing Act which was introduced by the CM in order to protect the farmers and safeguard their lands.

Minister for Panchayat Mr. Jaydrathsinh Parmar, MOS for Urban Development Mr. Yogesh Patel, M.Ps, M.L.As, farmers and beneficiaries marked their presence in this online event.
