8,000 per acre subsidy on onion cultivation in Haryana

03 July 2021, Chandigarh: Taking another commendable step towards doubling the income of the farmers, Haryana Government has taken an initiative to provide grant amount of Rs.8,000 per acre to the farmers for cultivation of Kharif Onion.

 Giving information about this, an official spokesperson said that the grant amount given by the state government to the farmers adopting Kharif onion cultivation under the Integrated Horticulture Development Mission will go directly to their bank accounts.  A farmer will be given the benefit of this grant scheme up to a maximum of 5 acres.  Giving instructions to the farmers, he said that a farmer who wants to take advantage of the above scheme of the government will have to register himself by registering the area of cultivation on the HORTNET portal.  After this, all the relevant documents will have to be submitted in the office of the District Horticulture Officer of their district.
