04 May 2021, Chandigarh: The Government agencies and private traders have procured 28,4561 metric tonnes of wheat in Punjab on 25th day of procurement.
An official Spokesperson said that out of the total 28,4561 procurement from various procurement centres in the State, the Government agencies procured 2,84,492 MT of which 69 MT has been procured by the private traders (Adhatiya).
He further said that PUNGRAIN has procured 71,443 metric tonnes, MARKFED 72,116 metric tonnes and PUNSUP procured 62,253 metric tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation 39,455 MT wheat respectively. The Centre government agency FCI has procured 33,737 MT of wheat. Apart from this, PUNGRAIN procured 5,487 MT wheat for public distribution in the Punjab.
Progressive procurement by all the procuring agency is 1,20,67,743 MT.
