05 February 2025, New Delhi: VL Gehun 2015 is a high-yielding wheat variety developed by ICAR-VPKAS, Almora, and officially notified on January 29, 2021. This variety is suitable for timely sown, rainfed (organic cultivation) conditions in the hills of Uttarakhand. With an average yield of 19.88 quintals per hectare and a potential yield of 36.67 quintals per hectare, VL Gehun 2015 offers an excellent option for local farmers.

The variety is known for its good sedimentation value of 60 ml and its resistance to yellow and brown rust. This combination of traits makes VL Gehun 2015 a valuable choice for farmers seeking high-quality, disease-resistant wheat.
