High-Yielding Wheat Variety: PBW 833
02 February 2025, New Delhi: PBW 833 is a high-yielding wheat variety developed by PAU, Ludhiana for late-sown, irrigated conditions in the North Eastern Plains Zone northern region. It was notified under 1056(E), 06.03.2023, with an average yield of 42.75 q/ha and a potential yield of 58.8 q/ha.
This variety is highly resistant to leaf rust, ensuring better crop protection. Additionally, it has good chapatti quality (score: 8.2) and a protein content of 12.9%, making it an excellent choice for food production. Farmers looking for a late-sown wheat variety with strong disease resistance and superior grain quality should consider PBW 833.
