High Yielding Wheat Variety PBW 766: Ideal for Punjab

05 February 2025, New Delhi: PBW 766, commonly referred to as Sunehri, is a high-yielding wheat variety developed by PAU, Ludhiana, and officially notified on December 24, 2021. This variety is optimized for timely sown, irrigated production conditions in Punjab, achieving an impressive average yield of 64.3 quintals per hectare and a potential yield of 79.2 quintals per hectare.

One of its defining features is its resistance to leaf rust and moderate resistance to stripe rust, ensuring optimal crop performance. Farmers in Punjab seeking a high-yielding wheat variety that excels in both productivity and disease resistance should consider PBW 766.
