03 February 2025, New Delhi: NIDW 1149 is a durum wheat variety developed for timely sown, restricted irrigation conditions in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Goa, and Tamil Nadu. It is known for its rust resistance and attractive grains.

Developed by MPKV, ARS, Niphad, this variety was notified under 500(E) on 29.01.2021. It has an average yield of 27.4 q/ha and a potential yield of 36.8 q/ha.

Special Features of NIDW 1149:

– Resistant to brown rust (HS 20S, ACI 2.8) and yellow rust (HS 15S, ACI 4.1).
– Attractive grains, making it market-friendly.
