High-Yielding Wheat Variety MACS 4100 (MACS Jejuri) for Peninsular Indiaa

03 February 2025, New Delhi: MACS 4100 (MACS Jejuri) is a durum wheat variety developed for timely sown, irrigated conditions in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Goa, and Tamil Nadu. With strong rust resistance and high yellow pigment content, it is an excellent choice for pasta production.

Developed by ARI, Pune, it was notified under 1056(E) on 06.03.2023. It has an average yield of 46.0 q/ha and a potential yield of 61.8 q/ha, making it a high-performing wheat variety in the region.

Special Features of MACS 4100 (MACS Jejuri):

– Resistant to leaf rust, ensuring long-term crop sustainability.
– Hard grains for better processing and storage.
– High yellow pigment (7.1 ppm), making it ideal for pasta production.
