High-Yielding Wheat Variety: HI 1621 (Pusa Wheat 1621)

02 February 2025, New Delhi: HI 1621 (Pusa Wheat 1621) is a high-yielding wheat variety developed by ICAR-IARI RS, Indore for very late-sown, irrigated conditions northern region. It was notified under 99(E), 06.01.2020, with an average yield of 28.3 q/ha and a potential yield of 40.7 q/ha.

A key feature of HI 1621 (Pusa Wheat 1621) is its early maturity of just 102 days when sown late, making it highly suitable for farmers dealing with delayed planting. This variety ensures good productivity even under late-sown conditions, making it a practical choice for wheat growers.
