High-Yielding Biofortified Wheat Variety: MACS 6768 (MACS Sakas)
02 February 2025, New Delhi: MACS 6768 (MACS Sakas) is a biofortified wheat variety developed by ARI, Pune for timely sown, irrigated conditions in the Central Zone of India. Notified under 1056(E), 06.03.2023, this variety delivers an average yield of 56.6 q/ha and an impressive potential yield of 92.4 q/ha.
This variety is nutrient-rich, containing 12.0% protein, 41.2 ppm iron (Fe), and 45.1 ppm zinc (Zn), making it an excellent choice for improving dietary nutrition. Additionally, it has good chapatti quality (score: 8.3), ensuring better taste and texture.
