High-Yielding Biofortified Wheat Variety: DDW 47
02 February 2025, New Delhi: DDW 47 is a biofortified durum wheat variety developed by ICAR-IIWBR, Karnal, specifically for the Central Zone of India under timely sown, restricted irrigation conditions. Notified under 99(E), 06.01.2020, this variety provides an average yield of 37.3 q/ha and a potential yield of 74.1 q/ha.
One of the standout features of DDW 47 is its very high yellow pigment content (7.57 ppm), making it ideal for high-quality pasta production. It also boasts a high pasta acceptability score of 7.9, ensuring superior texture and taste. Farmers in Central India looking for a durum wheat variety with premium quality for pasta processing should consider DDW 47.
