Farm Laws Repeal Bill 2021 passed by Lok Sabha
29 November 2021, New Delhi: The Bills to repeal the farm laws “Farm Law Repeal Bill 2021″ was passed today by the Lok Sabha. The government will now introduce farm laws repeal bill in Rajya Sabha today. The Union Cabinet on 24th November, Wednesday approved a bill to repeal the three farm laws.
The repeal of these three legislations has been one of the key demands of around 40 farmer unions protesting against these reforms for nearly a year now.
Indian Parliament had passed the three laws last year —the Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020, the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020, and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020—in September 2020.
