Agri India Hackathon to accelerate innovations in Indian Agriculture
30 December 2020, New Delhi, IN: The Agri India Hackathon will be the largest virtual gathering to create dialogues, and accelerate innovations in Indian agriculture. The event is organised by Pusa Krishi, ICAR – Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare and will be inaugurated on 31st December 2020.
Agri India Hackathon will help solve critical problems in the agriculture sector and will positively impact 5 interconnected areas to provide a roadmap for the future. These areas include Mechanization of Farming & Allied Activities, Precision Agriculture including applications of sensors, WSN, ICT, Artificial Intelligence, IoT & drone, Supply Chain & Agriculture Logistics, Post-Harvest, Food Technology & Value addition, Waste to Wealth & Green Energy in Agriculture.

The 60 day engagement event will be conducted online and will have collaboration & participation from across the country and intersectional industries. The event is expected to host more than 1000 startups from agriculture sector. 7 Agri India Meets are scheduled to be conducted for knowledge building ideas, network and learning from 40 leading thinkers & experts of the agriculture ecosystem.
24 best innovations from different focus areas will be awarded a cash prize of INR 1,00,000 each. The winning innovations will get an exclusive preference for incubation support, pre-seed & seed-stage funding of 5 Lakhs & 25 Lakhs respectively at any one of the 29 RABIs, subject to assessment by the independent RABI.
