CLAAS India appoints Sriram Kannan as new India CEO & MD
30 November 2023, Mumbai: CLAAS Agricultural Machinery Pvt Ltd, a wholly-owned Indian subsidiary of the German agriculture machinery manufacturers and the pioneer in multi-crop harvesting, has announced the appointment of Sriram Kannan as the new Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director for CLAAS India.
Sriram Kannan comes with extensive industry experience of over 25 years and was leading the manufacturing operations as Managing Director of CLAAS India before he was elevated to the role of CEO & MD of the entire operations of CLAAS in India. He also worked with Bosch (Formerly MICO), Kurlon Ltd., and Lapp India Private Limited in various capacities before joining CLAAS India in 2014.
In his new role, Mr. Kannan will be responsible for combating the low-cost imports and bringing back the market for CLAAS with current products as well as developing, producing, and launching New Products locally, as well as finding markets for the products produced outside India which also has a huge potential. In a nutshell, growing the business of CLAAS India would be the prime focus.
Speaking on the appointment, Sriram Kannan, Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director, CLAAS Agricultural Machinery Pvt. The company also has a strong distribution network in South Asia serving over 10,000 customers.
CLAAS, in India, started manufacturing CROP TIGER combine harvesters, based on the Tangential Axial Flow (TAF) threshing mechanism, designed exclusively to address the challenges being faced by Indian farmers, especially the grain losses due to manual harvesting. CLAAS in India is also well known for its “Make in India” initiative, as it has been innovating on products to cater to the needs of Indian farmers.
