Brazil Reports 118 Cases of Soybean Rust, Below Historical Averages

19 March 2025, New Delhi: Embrapa has confirmed 118 cases of soybean rust in Brazil, an increase of one case from last week. Paraná leads with 67 cases, followed by Rio Grande do Sul (19) and Mato Grosso do Sul (12). Despite the increase, the current count remains significantly lower than last year’s 316 cases and the five-year average of 290. The highest recorded outbreak was in the 2006/07 season with 2,530 cases, while the lowest was in 2019/20 with 181 cases.
