15th Brasil AgrochemShow Announces Final Lineup of Industry Insights

19 June 2024, São Paulo: The highly anticipated 15th Brasil AgrochemShow 2024 has announced its final agenda, featuring a diverse lineup of experts and thought leaders in the agriculture and agribusiness sectors.

The two-day event, scheduled for August 13th and 14th, will tackle a range of pressing topics and challenges facing the industry.

On August 13th, the agenda kicks off with a presentation on the “Priorities and Challenges of Agriculture and Livestock” by Carlos Goulart, the Secretary of Agriculture and Livestock Defense at the Ministry of Agriculture of Brazil. Goulart, an agricultural engineer, will share his insights on the current state and future direction of the sector.

Next, Filipe Guimarães, the Head of Product Marketing, Latin America at Syngenta Crop Protection, will provide an “Overview, Trends and Challenges in the Pesticide Market.” Guimarães, an agricultural engineer with an MBA, will delve into the latest developments and challenges in the pesticide industry.

The day’s program also includes a session on “IPM (Integrated Pest Management) in Soybean” by Adeney de Freitas Bueno, the Head of R&D at Embrapa Soybean and a renowned researcher in entomology. Bueno, an agricultural engineer with a Ph.D. in entomology, will share his expertise on sustainable pest management practices.

The first day will conclude with a presentation on the “Overview of Brazilian Economy” by Luiz Fernando Figueiredo, the Chairman of Jive Investments and founder of Mauá Capital, as well as the former monetary policy director of the Central Bank of Brazil.

On August 14th, the event will continue with a session on “Pesticide Registration: Time, Lawsuit, New Law” by Flavio Hirata, a Partner at AllierBrasil, a pesticide registration consulting firm. Hirata, an agronomist and pesticide registration expert, will share his perspective on pesticide registration in Brazil and how law suits an help speed up the process.

The second day will also feature a presentation on “Coopercitrus Business Expansion and the Future of Cooperatives in Agribusiness” by Fernando Degobbi Sambonovich, the CEO of Coopercitrus, a leading agricultural cooperative.

Godofredo Vitti, a renowned researcher and professor of fertilizer, fertilization and soil fertility at Esalq/USP, will share his expertise on the “Rational Use of Fertilizers.” Vitti, an agricultural engineer with a Ph.D. in soil and plant nutrition, will provide insights into sustainable fertilizer management.

The event will also include a session on the “Environmental Dynamics of Herbicides” by Paulo Vinicius da Silva, a Professor of biology and management of weeds at the Federal University of Grande Dourados and the head of the Weeds Study Group – Geplad.

The final session of the event will feature Aline Oliveira Pezente, the Co-founder and Chief Product Officer at Traive, a technology company for financial products in agribusiness using proprietary Artificial Intelligence. Pezente, a master’s degree holder from MIT, will discuss the role of AI in agribusiness finance.

The 15th Brasil AgrochemShow 2024 promises to be a must-attend event for industry professionals, researchers, and policymakers. With a diverse lineup of experts and insightful discussions, the event aims to provide a platform for knowledge sharing, networking, and driving the future of the Brazilian agriculture and agribusiness sectors.
